Bug Description
This laptop does not boot with a pcmcia-ide device (memory card reader) inserted upon initial boot. The system pauses at:
Detecting RAID Devices (Ctrl-C gets past this)
and then hangs at:
Configuring LVM Devices (Ctrl-C does *not* get past this)
The machine boots fine with no memory card/reader inserted, as it also previously did under Ubuntu. This is with:
2.6.15-21-386
and appears to be related the the infamous ThinkPad docked/undocked issue in bug #6367 because:

The Cardbus bridge comes before the SATA controller on the PCI bus. Why it hangs I don't understand because the driver used is the SATA controller.

Beginning with the Hardy Heron 8.04 development cycle, all open Ubuntu kernel bugs need to be reported against the "linux" kernel package. We are automatically migrating this linux-source-2.6.15 kernel bug to the new "linux" package. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make this transition. Also, if you would be interested in testing the upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release, it is available at http:// www.ubuntu. com/testing . Please let us know your results. Thanks!
