Bug Description

Package lapack3 disappeared after upgrade to jaunty.
Installing package liblapack-dev got me the library file back, but I was puzzled for a while.
Why didn't the upgrader select this package ?

Hi Jan, I'm reassigning this report to the Ubuntu lapack package, which replaced lapack3. I guess it should be the job of the new package to handle the changeover gracefully

I don't know where you see a lapack3 package ?!
This is still the main one in ubuntu:
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lapack/+changelog
