This is a placeholder bug for the software-store MIR. Software-store is being promoted to main for karmic alpha 6; this bug will need to be followed through on prior to the karmic release.

aptdaemon: maintenance and packaging okay. Bug 396527 (missing conffile handling) is a major issue/regression, though. I'm not quite clear about bug 396583, does it mean that it doesn't install GPG keys into apt-key for added PPAs? I know that we didn't have this in synaptic either, but it seems really simple to do, and would improve security a lot. Once we have that, it should just outright fail without a possibility to override in the GUI if signatures don't match.

This is fixed in current karmic

This bug was about the missing ability to do the equivalent of "apt-key add" via dbus/policykit. This has been fixed since.

Setting software-store back to new. I don't see any response from Loic here, so I guess the "incomplete" state was an error.

I sent a couple of trivial fixes to Michael, one minor thing I spotted during MIR review is missing .PHONY; could you please add:
.PHONY: binary binary-indep binary-arch build clean

Michael, perhaps you should be subscribed to the Launchpad bugs?
