Bug Description

Binary package hint: initscripts

Doing apt-get update + apt-get dist-upgrade results in initscripts being "kept back".

Attempting apt-get install initscripts reports 139 critical packages will be removed, mainly xorg packages.

sysv-rc depends on initscripts (3 2.86.ds1-63).
That's why initscripts is kept back.

Thanks the report, however this is a transitional problem that will automatically sort itself out over the new few hours as the buildds and archive catch up

I did update + dist-upgrade, saw that initscript was kept back, but went ahead anyway. Now my computer won't start. Any idea how to fix it?

Can I just wait a while, chroot from live-cd and do apt-get upgrade when the packages are fixed?
