Work around: Modified /etc/cups/ppd/"my printer")
DefaultPageSize = Letter
DefaultPageRegion = Letter
DefaultImageabl
DefaultPaperDim
All of the above were stuck on A4
Note: the original reporter indicated the bug was in package 'cups'; however, that package was not published in Ubuntu.
