We are currently in Feature Freeze, so a feature freeze exception (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FreezeExceptionProcess) will be needed for this sync. Some things that caught my eye were the fact that this is a major upstream release and that you are requested that we sync from Debian experimental. Is there a reason for doing this at this point in the cycle? Currently, version 0.2.6.1-1 is in both Debian unstable and Ubuntu karmic.

As a Feature Freeze exception is needed before this package can be synced, I am unsubscribing ubuntu-universe-sponsors for the time being.

I was doing this at David Rubin's request Nathan (I presume he already uses Weechat 0.3 and is exhilarated by it).

I can get back to you once I've updated him of the above.

Thanks
Iain

Now that WeeChat 0.3.0 is final and in Sid, IMO it would be a huge improvement to have over Weechat 0.2.6, especially since the upstream community has largely switched their plugin development effort towards the improved new release.

We should consider treating this as a feature freeze exception.

Weechat 0.3.0 for 10.04 would be great!

Would be great to see in 10.04. since the config file has changed and is no longer compatible would be nice to have some sort of porting/converter to at least copy over the server/channel config settings.
