Movie Player reports that it needs a plug-in to play CDs

Totem cannot play this type of media (DVD) because it does not have the appropriate plugins to be able to read from the disc. -- Please install the necessary plugins and restart Totem to be able to play this media.
(NOTE: I need to know which drivers needed to be downloaded and where to find them. Also, the system sound is no longer working. I attempt to 'PulseAudio' without success. In fact streaming video worked find before I download PulseAudio modules.)
