Bug Description

Binary package hint: debian-installer

Running ubuntu 9.10 alpha 5, booting off USB from CD image. Installing Base system fails with the following error:

debootstrap warning:
failure trying to run: chroot /target /sbin/ldconfig

executing a shell, sh is missing from /target/bin, ldconfig will not run under bash.

was able to manually copy sh from /bin to /target/bin, this got me through the base install, with one "unable to configure package error". It did not specify which one and the base install has finished.

Thanks for posting this bug and workaround. I encountered this while installing from minimal disc. Fortunately, I could still browse for solutions on my G1 =p
