Hi TBerk. I've just tested it and the bug is not reproduced.
maybe you should update gbittorrent to a new 1.5.1 version
.. or consider using a clipboard manager (like Parcellite for GNOME)

I hope my post will be helpful.

Currently @ 1.4.1, will (re)update to 1.5.1 and try it again.
btw- this is the only app I have on the system that has this trouble...

I just root canal'd 1.3x and 1.4.1 from my Ubuntu 9.04 (Ubuntu Studio) and installed via "sudo apt-get install qbittorrent" .

I am currently showing ver 1.5.2 of qbittorrent and the minor trouble remains; I can not 'copy' in another program (Say, Firefox for example) and then 'paste' into the Search field of qbittorrent.

It's not a super high priority but I thought I would report it.
If there is anything I can do to gather better info/details, please let me know.

The thing is, I'm using Ubuntu v9.04 (although not studio edition). I have just tried to copy from firefox and paste in qBittorrent search field and it works.

Moreover, this is not a programming issue in qbittorrent, copy/paste thing is not handled by me but by the window manager. I have no idea, whatsoever, how to fix it. I will have a look in Google and see if other people had similar problems.

OK, but in any case Thx for attempting to recreate it. (btw- I have ALWAYS had this trouble with qBt and Ubuntu, so it must be something underlying my install of the OS for quite some time now.)

Since 9.10 is on the way and I'm planning on rebuilding a new install/partition for it (only bringing over my Docs, etc) this 'bug' may be moot by next month.

If not... I'll be back.

Feel free to downgrade this bug as you see fit.

Well, the trouble is now gone. most recently I updated the kernel via Synaptic's, (from .15 to .16). I often try 'paste' (Cnt-V) from time to time and just today it worked as expected.

This bug can be closed as it was likely something corrupted in my prior config.

Paste via RMB doesn't work for search in trunk r3052. Ctrl+V works fine.

Ok, I finally found the issue!!

The problem only affected Paste action through right-click/context menu. I was using CTRL+C/CTRL+V keyboard shortcuts which explains why I could not reproduce it.

Anyway, This is fixed in SVN and v2.0.0 (to be released as Final in two days) will include the fix. Thanks a lot for the report and sorry for not finding the problem earlier.
