Bug Description
Binary package hint: ubiquity
I installed Ubuntu karmic Alpha 5. When it booted the liveCD, I selected English and then hit F3 and selected Dvorak as my keymap. When the system finished booting, It was using the Dvorak Keymap as I would expect. Then I installed and when it asked what keymap to use, I left it at the suggested Dvorak. I finished installing and rebooted, I expected the login window to use Dvorak, and that my user would also use Dvorak. Instead, the login window was using the Qwerty keymap, and the keyboard drop-down (up) menu only has the Qwery keymap listed. To get to the Dvorak Layout, I had to Hit other and then select it. Normally, I would expect that to change gdm to using the Dvorak keymap layout. It doesn't change the keymap at all, and still leaves you to login with Qwerty. Now, that's not a very big problem for me because I once apon a time typed in Qwerty, so I can still stumble around in it. However, I imagine this could be a big deal for someone who was using a keymap for a different country or something and that didn't know the qwerty layout at all.

I can't tell you what version of ubuquity just yet, I have to start the Alpha 5 liveCD to find that out. Also, it might not be ubuiqity, but if it isn't I don't know what package.
