Bug Description

Kubuntu karmic is taking too much time to boot.
My bootchart says that the boot take about 30 seconds but my chronometer display about 2 minutes between the grub choice and the system is fully loaded (usable).
I have the Alpha5 with all updates
Attached my bootchart

Hi,
I cannot precisely tell you if the lucid packages from lucid repositories are ok because i'm using the updates ppa from kubuntu team but the boot is really fast now and it is faster with the kde 4.5 packages.
Maybe the root cause was the startup order of kde applications after the boot OR if the applications startup aren't running in parallel.
I think this isn't an issue anymore (for me at least).

Hello mmbossoni.
I've made an installation of kubuntu 10.04.1 and everythings go well, boot included, all regular.
