Bug Description

Binary package hint: epiphany-browser

After a recent Firefox update, epiphany started crashing on startup. When it is started from the command line it asks the question about restoring the browser state (shown in the attached dialog), and regardless of the answer, it segfaults. Epiphany worked fine the last time i used it (about a week ago). I use it exclusively for my Internet banking, so i am reasonably confident that there is no corruption due to malware.

I would have submitted this bug via apport, but it doesn't seem to be working at the moment - not sure why.

could you give details on what you updated before getting the issue?

I don't know what was updated prior to this issue - i have my security updates set to apply automatically, and i'm not sure which logs record the progress. However, Firefox was also affected after i closed and tried to reopen it, so i suspect something in libc or the mozilla libraries was updated.

I've been unable to reproduce this after a system reboot, so i don't think there's any more point in pursuing it.

I was never able to duplicate this bug. It has not yet occurred for me under Karmic and may be closed.
