[Karmic] kompozer cannot connect via ftp

The version on my Windows Worsta notebook works just fine, but the version shipping with Karmic doesn't work at all. At the crux of the problem is the entry screens insistence that "ftp://" precede the ftp address. Some enterprising little dweeb changed the ftp utility shipping with Karmic.

Today 2009-09-29, I downloaded all 180+Meg of patches waiting. Kompozer FTP is still busted. The entry screen still insists on putting ftp:// in front of the address which stops it from working with the FTP engine in Karmic.

When is 8b going to be backported or available for Karmic? As it stands kompozer is completely unusable in karmic.

Are you saying the upload noted by Launchpad Janitor did not fix the problem?

I'm saying I applied all updates and don't have 8b, I'm still at 8a. The
"upload" didn't go out to Karmic, or at least any of the update servers my
machine is looking at.

How long do we have to wait for 8b to bubble out to Karmic users? I'm still at 8a4 with all updates applied.

Do you mean this is _STILL_ a bug? KDE fixed this upstream a looong time ago.
I ended up pulling down a source tarball and doing a local build so I could
edit some pages.

How about getting an updated version of Kompozer into the distribution?? This bug was fixed over a year ago and it STILL hasn't made it into the Ubuntu distro.
