Bug Description

Binary package hint: kopete-facebook

If the user enters a wrong email address and wants to fix this after he finished the initial setup (which is about the time it would become quite obvious that he entered the wrong one due to failed long) they can't use the "Modify Account" option since the information will not be available there. So one has to re-enter everything. This is even more annoying when the email was right but the password wrong.

also the same on my install on karmic

email and password field are empty when you want to modify the account data

Facebook now supports chat via XMPP (aka Jabber), which is a native plugin to Kopete. Due to this change of circumstances kopete-facebook was recently removed from the archives in favor of the present solution. It is currently not planed to deploy further updates to the version used in Kubuntu karmic.
