vrt switch doesn't work on Atom 280 Asus eeepc 100HE

changing display from X to console and back to X doesn't work .
Its has never worked very well on other configurations too (AMD64 + Ati Radeon X1100 Mobility)
It's a shame because it's very usefull in case X crashes !
