Bug Description

I'm trying to install Karmic from the amd64-alternative CD (via a USB key FWIW), using the default US archive. The install runs into multiple failures on packages, the first of which is a failure to install module-init-tools, which has this error:

Can't exec "insserv": No such file or directory at /usr/sbin/update-rc.d line 402
dpkg: error processing module-init-tools (--configure)

I get thrown back to the install menu, saying that "Installing the base system" failed.

I expected the install to complete :)
