with no difference.

This isn't related to gdm or X. I can't even get it to boot with 'single' on command line for maintenance mode. If anyone has an idea on how to debug this - I'm willing to help. Please note that '2.6.31-3-rt' works fine.

I have the same problem. T60P + Jaunty

2.6.31-1-rt was has been dead stable. I am still using it.

2.6.31-4-rt won't even boot

Since Th. Gleixner promised to deliver the final rt-patch 24h after the launch of 2.6.31 I am looking forward to the
final patch version implemented into the Ubuntu package.

2.6.31-4-rt on netbook (eeepc) also doesn't boot. Screen goes blank during boot.

This is while trying to get into rescue mode.

It reacts to Alt-Ctl-Del, gets dhcp lease, reacts to pings but no sshd.
kern.log doesn't seem to get written to disk.

sshd works in 2.6.31-1 of course, so it isn't a firewall issue.

Not sure if this is related to the above on pc.

Should I try any specific pre-release kernel?

Workaround for the blank screen - adding the 'nomodeset' param during boot.

Remaining issues seem to be solved after updates.

Except for udevadmin problems in 2.6.31-4, which prevent booting.
I'll try again in a few days and give an update.

This bug should be fixed as of linux-rt 2.6.31-5.5, i.e linux-image-2.6.31-5-rt. Please try and let me know if the issue has been resolved.
