Thunderbird Message Views not saved

using Thunderbird 2.0.0.23 (20090817) on an Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Kernel 2.6.28-15-generic system

1. In Thunderbird, select "Customize Message Views" and add a view.
2. Click OK --> the window to enter the filter conditions for the new view disappears, but the new view doesn't appear in the listbox of the "Customize message views"-window. This is already an error, but not the really bad one.
3. Click OK to close the "Customize message views"-window.
4. You can now select the new message view from the menu or from the symbol bar an d work with. (If you reaopen the "Customize message views"-window, the new view will also appear in the listbox.)
5. Restart Thunderbird --> all message views you defined in the last session are lost. (They don't reappear wether in the menu, the symbol bar not in the "Customize message views"-window.) Why?

What is the output of the following:
apt-cache policy thunderbird mozilla-thunderbird
Also please disable all themes and extensions that you might
have install, this step is important.
With no themes/extensions installed, with 1 address in tbird2
and 3 i am unable to reproduce this.

i have no themes installed. i disables all add-ons and restarted TB. problem still exists.

I still cant reproduce this with steps given above.
Someone else able to reproduce this bug using steps in the description?

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner.
There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test the current Ubuntu development version (10.04). If you can test it, and it is still an issue, we would appreciate if you could upload updated logs by running apport-collect 426172, and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
