Bug Description

Package: gMobileMedia via Jaunty (synaptic)

when connecting the first time, I had already been using my phone in Wammu, and disconnected from there. While connecting in gMobileMedia, it got to Scanning Phone (getting filesystem folders) and timed out. Per the log:

Entering GSM_GetNextFileFolder
Starting reading!
[Retrying 1 type 0x00]
[Retrying 2 type 0x00]
GSM_GetNextFileFolder failed with error TIMEOUT[14]: No response in specified timeout. Probably phone not connected.
Leaving GSM_GetNextFileFolder

After that it sat there and sat there and sat there and did nothing. No error message, no continuing to next task, no response on the cancel button. I had to close it through the task manager.

After rebooting the phone, I tried again and got the directory listing just fine. It all seemed to be working. I dragged a theme file onto my desktop, and while the progress bar seemed to complete, the log file said such:

Getting first file part
Security error (0xc3)
Retry 1
Security error (0xc3)
Retry 2
Security error (0xc3)
Retry 3
Security error (0xc3)
Retry 4
Security error (0xc3)
GSM_GetFilePart failed with error PERMISSION[30]: Permission to file/device required...
Leaving GSM_GetFilePart

Once again, no error message, no continuing to next task, no response on the cancel button. I had to close it through the task manager.

Disconnecting, the phone said "connection lost", I reconnected with a new session and got the first error described above.

I was unable to do much further testing as it required almost constant reboots of the phone and killing the frozen process (named only "python") through the task manager, but it's fair to say that this would happen on any communication error.

Can you try that with newer Gammu version?
