Bug Description

Hi:

Excuse my English. This is a translation by Google.

Unfortunately since I've had a Jaunty use "freezes" the system frequently and each with a span of 5 minutes.

The logs report the following appears:

argordmel-laptop kernel: [ 1844.870846] Clocksource tsc unstable (delta = -730839562 ns)

I changed the clocksource for "hpet" or "acpi_pm" among others but still continues to hang.

more info:

Linux argordmel-laptop 2.6.28-15-generic #49-Ubuntu SMP Tue Aug 18 18:40:08 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

I see that message on Lucid on a lot of computers with Intel CPU. It doesn't seem to cause freezes.
