Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

I've got an skype certified USB headset. This doesn't work in Ubuntu.

This headset ist recognized by the os, because the in the headset integrated led is blinking, but nevertheless the system only uses the laptop loud speakers. Moreover the laptop microphone doesn't work.

p.s: the attachment shows the same model, except it's an analog headset, not an USB headset.

If headset is inserted, the kernel seems to recognize it. But Ubuntu is not changing the internal audio connection. If I go to system -> settings -> audio and change there the audio settings manually, then I get sound on the headset ear-plugs. The same for the headset microphone.

This is very inconvenient, especially if you use skype all the day long. In other OS the audio connection is set up automatically.

In my opinion, that is a bug!
