"Uploaded by" is misleading

Bug Description

https://edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-dfsg-5.1

This page says "Uploaded by Dave Walker" ... however, the .dsc file disagrees with this, and says that it's uploaded by Mario Limonciello

I think this either needs to be worded correctly, or there needs to be a distinction made between the uploader and the person listed in "Changed-By"

Martin,

You are right, the .changes and the DSC were signed by Mario (the sponsor) and the Changed-By is Dave (the creator).

I personally think that, for general users, version authoring is more important than the fact the upload was sponsored by Mario, but ideally we should express both aspects clearer.

What would be preferable ?

1. Uploaded by $SPONSOR (on behalf of $CREATOR)
2. Created by $CREATOR (uploaded by $SPONSOR)
3. Created by: $CREATOR ... Uploaded by: $SPONSOR

Any of the above. 1 is my personal favourite though, but without brackets

What about dropping this field (or even the complete box) at all as I find it pretty useless in the 3.0 page?

The latest version can be easily spotted in the "series table" as it will be at the top and knowing the name of the creator (or uploader) doesn't help me without knowing what changed. So I either need to expand the version details to see the changelog (and also see the name of the package creator) or even the full changelog if it was an older upload I'm interested in.
And the upload date itself is pretty uninteresting.

What about moving the package creator and the sponsor into the expandable version details? That way one could even see who prepared and uploaded a package to e.g. -updates and not only to the current development series.

As seen on https://edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kde4libs the "Latest release" doesn't list the latest version in the development version but instead the most recent upload to any pocket (here jaunty-backports) making this portlet even more useless.
