Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdepim

I'm using karmic alpha 5, amd64

Steps to reproduce:

1. open kontact via the kde menu.
2. click on the "ktimetracker" tab (bottom left of the kontact window)
3. close the kontact window
4. try to fire up kontact again: it won't show up!

Needless to say, this makes ktimetracker completely unusable !

in fact kontact can be run again only if you manually kill the kontact process.

[ Another (small) bug that makes me feel that ktimetracker has not been really tested here: when you create a new task, instead of an icon, a "question mark" icon appear in front of the task ]

Thanks for reporting this bug.

Could you please try to reproduce this bug with Kubuntu 11.04 since this report is nearly two years old and Kontact has been improved in that time.

Regards Jonathan

I have tried several times, and it seems to work now.

However Minh is probably right. It is not specific to ktimetracker. In fact, it still happens very frequently that kontact does not kill itself when quitting, and when you want to lanch it again, nothing shows up. This is with or without using ktimetracker (mostly without).
Actually, I have now a personal script that I call instead of calling kontact, in order to check if kontact was properly killed.
This problem I can ensure is still present in 11.04

So I guess this bug can be closed, but we should investigate bug 455881 instead.
