Bug Description

Using ndiswrapper to load a Broadcom BCM4318 wlan doesnt work. The card cannot pick up any wireless AP's and reports "Access Point: Invalid" always from 'iwconfig wlan0'. Except it works in kernel 2.6.12-9 kernel. None of the laters ones.. (I've tried 2.6.12-10, 2.6.12-20 and 2.6.12-21) work.

Also, the broadcom driver bcm43xx, doesnt work with the chipset 4318, and I've seen this by several other users. Other versions seem to work.

Ndiswrapper does not work with Broadcom 4320 chipset. Can not enable radio after updateing to Dapper 6.06 from Brezzy 5.10. Also system assigns device 'eth2' to the wifi pci card instead of 'wlan0' when I was using 5.10.

The bcm43xx kernel driver has "unstable" support for the 4318 chipset right now. Have you tried installing a newer version of ndiswrapper, making sure to unload the bcm43xx kernel module first?

I had to resort to installing kernel 2.6.18 to allow ndiswrapper to work.

Doing this also fixed my laptop battery meter (Acer Ferrari 4005 laptop).

Marking as fixed. This is a rather old bug which seems to be fixed upstream and therefore probably also in latest ubuntu releases.
