Bug Description

Binary package hint: grsync

Everytime i start grsync on a kubuntu karmic alpha 4 amd 64 machine it fails with this error. Sometimes the error is repeated a few times. Possibly as many times as profiles exist.

Deleting my config resukts in 1 error line. Using my old config the error appears 4 times. (4 profiles, default + 3 custom)

gtk_combo_box_append_text: assertion `GTK_IS_LIST_STORE (combo_box->priv->model)' failed

gtk 0.9.1.-1

Same problem here.
I guess this is related to glade (judging from the results after googling the error) and that there are other applications showing the same behaviour. Can anyone confirm that?

I get the same error. Karmic, kernel 2.6.31-9, 64 bit (all updates, 6.9.09).
I don't have any config files (fresh install).

bigal- are you running it via terminal? Doing so will show any error messages. launching via a shortcut will give the behaviour you describe.

Hi,

You shouldn't update the upstream file directly in the debdif. The good way to do it is to either patch it, or put it in the debian directory and install it in the rules file.

Please put the bug back to complete when the debdiff is updated.

Thanks,
Fabrice.

Debdiff updated for seperate patch for glade.xml, and also to skip translating the patch itself as this causes a build issue with the wildcard matching.

If it is addressed why is the bug set to Wishlist and not to Triaged and has no one assigned?

I don't know why the fix doesn't work , but I installed version 0.9.2 and would like to confirm that this version does work. ;-) When doing the command "make install", it has to be installed using "sudo".
(happy, happy)

So to fix this bug, Karmix needs to simply create a new deb in the repositories gsync-0.9.2.

Then it can be closed.

Thanks.

This bug is being addressed, it is just waiting for a universe sponsor to approve.

KrazyPenguin - We dont just pull in new versions this late in the cycle, as that is more than a fix to just this bug, and could cause regressions.

Again, no more comments are needed on this specific bug besides review, the forums are the best place to talk about work arounds etc.

this is a cleaner diff of the glade file. You could perhaps use that as a basis for the patch.

I'm sorry but I don't understand. Grsync isn't included in Karmic by default, so why couldn't a new version be introduced??
I'm not a programmer, just tested bugs and making some observations. Are you saying that all the packages in the repos are also frozen?? If so I didn't realize that all the packages that don't come with Karmic are frozen as well.

Hi,

Version 0.9.2 has not been sync yet, so until then, the package in Karmic will fail.

As soon as it will be synced, I will update this bug report.
