I can't confirm this anymore in newer snapshots like soas02.iso. Still leaving this bug open, in case it might be a regression, though.

Just now on XO-1 got the same Sugar crash in soas03xo when trying to drag the highlight to a different timezone in 'My Settings' -> 'Date & Time'. That confirms that this bug is still there.

I can confirm this now, actually. It seems only to happen on the XO-1, though, which is somewhat strange.

In soas04xo on XO-1, am still seeing this problem when trying to drag the timezone in 'My Settings' -> 'Date & Time'

Interesting note: In soas04xo on XO-1, I'm in Home View List panel. When I click on the bottom-most entry shown on the screen (I wanted to launch that activity), Sugar vanishes (due to the #423656 problem). When Sugar restarts and I again call up Home View List panel, the entry I had clicked on is now at the top of the screen (and can be clicked on without making Sugar vanish).

In soas04xo.img on nand flash in XO, I am also seeing this problem, when I click in
a vertical scroll bar in the list view of the home zoom level, or in Browse.
X restarts. Xorg.0.log.old shows a backtrace for a segmentation fault in the X server
afterwards.

I'll try to attach the Xorg.0.log.old here, but unfortunately the XO is not mounting my USB
key right now, 'sudo yum install diffutils' failed due to failure to read file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-fedora-i386,
and Alt-tab isn't switching between activities, i.e. lots of little frustrations.

Tomeu helped me flash Soas v2 beta 4 to XO-1 yesterday and this bug happens 4 out of 5 times I try to scroll vertical scroll bar. However, it also happened in Browse when I clicked on the page background and attempted to scroll with the arrow key.

Sugar disappears, but oddly, when reappears, network connection not broken

battery is out (in auditorium at SFScon no power) is there a logfile I can supply which would be helpful?

thanks
Sean

I'm a bit lost myself. It seems like submitting an upstream report against the xorg-x11-drv-openchrome package wouldn't make sense, either, as F11 testing and F12 apparently ship the same version. So I don't even have a clue what's going wrong here. OLPC's new XO builds don't seem to have this issue, though. Maybe it's some 0.86 regression? Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

I agree that is is a 0.86 regression.

Going back over things I have posted, I see that I did not have this problem with build soas200908021950. I already had a problem with soas200908182110, and reported this exact same symptom with soas200908222158. I'm not sure which levels of Sugar those builds had - maybe you can check.

The point is that as long as soas was using 0.84 Sugar, this problem did *not* appear on the XO. [And OLPC's new XO builds, which are still using Sugar 0.84, do not have this problem - neither on the XO-1 (with geode driver) nor on the XO-1.5 (with openchrome driver, I believe).]

I am running blueberry (0.86.3) on XO-1. The problem also occurs when I access the frame - but it is difficult to pin down what causes it. In the Browser it is fairly easy to reproduce while clicking the scrollbar in the wiki or bugs page. It also happends in 'home' in the list view while keying downarrow. The OS reboots while displaying something about writing through the cache.
