is that specific to that theme? do you use any special driver acceleration or option for your ati card? do you use the ati or the fglrx driver?

default ati drivers of xorg. i think that there are not even proprietary drivers for the powerpc architecture.

i only see this using the ubuntulooks engine. all seems ok using the clearlooks or traditional theme.

i can attach my xorg.conf if i am at home again. but no extra options are used.

same problem. Never had this before. I think it is a theme bug.

Johannes, do you use an ATI driver too?

I have the same problem, also using the xorg ati driver. This was a problem in the clearlooks-cairo theme engine as well, before clearlooks was reverted to its pre-cairo version.

I have the problem on a Radeon 9200mobility, but I have never seen the problem on my desktop system which has an NVIDIA card.

could you try use vesa or fglrx as videodriver?

vesa does not work here and fglrx is not available for ppc.

but disabling dri/glx seems to fix this.

seems to be an ATI driver issue, reassigning to xserver-xorg-driver-ati

From what I can tell, this is an xorg ati driver issue. I have not had the problem with other drivers or other systems with non-ati video hardware.

yes I have a ati card. but I hadn't this problem before. I have this on nearly every vertical scrollbar. the stripe is mostly white but I already saw it in green and purple. It's gone when I move the mouse ove the scrollbar. ati 9250 btw
