Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

With Compiz on, whenever a 3d effect is being used, such as the desktop cube, minimizing the window, using a window switcher, etc. I experience glitches just beneath the window titlebar. Most of the times it looks like the background is shining through. I use the Dust theme, but I also experience these glitches with all the other themes, like the Human theme.

I use Ubuntu 9.04, i386 with the Nvidia 180 driver. But I often install Ubuntu on other computers, where I also experience these glitches.

I have attached a screenshot. Let me know if you need more info.

I forgot to say that these glitches only occur when a window is maximized. There is no problem with unmaximized windows.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Karmic Koala. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/. Thanks again and we appreciate your help.

I cannot reproduce this problem with the Dust theme on intel hardware in karmic. You can install the nvidia driver from the LiveCD, you just have to log out when it says to restart then when you log in you should have compiz working.
