"etc." in firefox spell check is always showing as incorrect

Using Ubuntu Jaunty with Firefox version 3.0.13 I've noticed that the Firefox spell checker always flags "etc." as an incorrect spelling even though it offers it as a correction alternative.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Find a textbox and enable spell checking
2) Type "etc"
3) Right click the bad spelling and select "etc."
4) Watch as is still says "etc." is wrong as continues to offer you "etc." as a correction.

I'm using the "English/United Kingdom" dictionary.

Thanks for responding so fast to my bug report however could to please clue me into how this relates to the "Ubuntu being mis spelled" bug?

With this bug when you select "etc." as the correct spelling it still says it's wrong and continues to offer "etc." as the correct spelling. It will also recursively keep adding dots every time you select the correct spelling.

Does this happen in the bug that you have marked this bug as a duplicate of because in my opinion these look like completely different issues.

I think it was marked a dup of that because that bug involved creating a way
for Ubuntu maintainers to add a custom dictionary.
