Bug Description
When using xsplash in autologin mode, I see a "black hole" while the user session opens, ie xsplash displays the boot logo and throbber, then the screen switches back to black, then i enter my session.
The correct behaviour should be to have xsplash displayed on top when the X server starts, up to when the transition to the user desktop session is made.
I can confirm that with the an ATI card an a composited WM in my user session (thinkpad config), and also with an Intel card and a non-composited WM (compiz) (netbook config).

This behaviour seems limited to some particular machines, but not reproducible on others. Downgrading that as a bug report and not a feature implementation.
