boson-data was blacklisted from Ubuntu as a KDE3-only package. The current package in unstable appears to still depend on the KDE3 libs. So the original reason for the blacklisting appears to still apply?

The boson-data package always build since it's only a data package:
Build-Depends: debhelper (>> 5.0.0), quilt
Build-Depends-Indep: wml, perlmagick, perl, cmake (>= 2.4.2)

The package which FTBFS in past was boson. It has some kde3 stuff b-p but I think
the reason why it FTBFS is that we were in the period of uploading kde4 stuff and let conflict that stuff.
Boson and Boson-data built without problems in my PPA and my local pbuilder.

The removal bug was #288949, which says the package needed a KDE3 kdemultimedia to build... so if that's not an issue, yeah, the removal reason seems to no longer stand.

This package can't be synced, though, because boson-data 0.13-3 was previously in Ubuntu; the version number needs to be bumped for the new upload.
