I try to reproduce this in Karmic up to date with totem 2.27.2 and I can confirm this problem too (Jaunty works fine!). May you please include the resulting file of: GST_DEBUG_NO_COLOR=1 GST_DEBUG=*:2 totem 2> log.txt

Tried watching .wmv video in firefox by clicking . As I click to start I get the crash. Totem is 2.27.2.

Attaching requested log file. It complains about libpython2.6.so and rightly. I do however find libpython2.6.so.1 and libpython2.6.so.1.0 if that is of any help. According to synaptic libpython2.6 is installed (2.6.2-0ubuntu3).
