Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdenlive

Kdenlive is unable to render a movie.

I tried to export an mpeg2 Movie (2pass 2000k)

After excessive CPU-Usage for 1-2 Minutes, the message:

Rendering of [....].mpg aborted, resulting video will probably be corrupted.

is shown in a dialog box.

The message:

Rendern von [...] .mpg abgestürzt
consumer_avformat.c: video codec mpeg2video unrecognised - ignoring

can be seen after that.

Rendering xvid4 fails with the same error messages, except that lame and libxvid are reported to be unrecognized and ignored.

I've successfully renderd a video after changing:
* uninstall frei0r-plugins
* install ffmpeg-dbg (and dependent packages)
* change default format to PAL

I'm not sure if we need all 3 changes or only the last one.

I think this issue can be dropped. I tried in the new ubuntu versions and - whatever was wrong with my old system back in 2009 - kdenlive seems to be able to render all right now.

Changed in kdenlive (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid
