Bug Description

Binary package hint: vinagre

After a recent updat of vinagre, telepathy tubes (share my desktop in empathy) are broken.
I consulted the telepathy IRC channel and they pointed out that vinagre needs to be compiled with the right options to support this function.

Early builds of Karmic supported this.

I reverted to the old vinagre package, and the problem persists. So it has to be somewhere in empathy/telepathy.

affects: vinagre (Ubuntu) → empathy (Ubuntu)

Someone on #telpathy offered a possible explanation:
<kutio> nocturn, I think it's because empathy and vinagre are not coordinate
<kutio> you should wait 2_27_90 empathy
 because in 2_27_90 we changed the name of the tube
 x_vnc -> rfb
 so empathy creates an x_vnc service
 and vinagre tries to handle an rfb service
 that's why vinagre fails
 sjoerd, Zdra why we don't have 2_27_90 version for empathy?

Thanks for your report and helping to make Ubuntu better. I will leave this as incomplete until the newer empathy and vinagre are in Karmic repos (which will be way before your expiration tiem is up). Please test those out and let me know how it is.

It works again, though vinagre itself seems to have a new bug... (filing it seperately)...
