First answers to your questions:
-Yes, this is reproducible. At least on my laptop :)
-I played a bit with this bug and revealed few more conditions of its occurrence:
--It does not happen when I initially start player. But starts after I minimize the window and maximize it again or resize window. I'm attaching screen shots so you have better idea how it looks like.

I would suspect problems in window redraw procedure.

Few more hints on my hardware setup:
-HP 6735s Laptop
-Samsung SyncMaster 2243nw LCD monitor.
-I have laptop screen disabled and using proprietary drivers for ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics card.

Hello,

I looked at it again, but I can't confirm this bug. I tried to minimize/resize the window, but everything worked fine. I use a Dell Mini 10v without an external screen.

PS
I now able to use open source drivers for my Radeon Mobility HD3200 integrated graphics card.
