Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

main.log does not contain any errors.
Any foreign package sources are de-activated.
No pre-releases have been installed.

Still, upgrade to 9.04 is aborted.

Any other package, I should remove manually?

Thanks for your bugreport.

Could you please attach /var/log/dist-upgrade/apt.log as well?

Attached apt.log and main.log when trying to upgrade from 8.10 to 9.04 .
No relevant error message was thrown, as far as I can see.

Thank you looking into this,

I had attached all logfiles in launchpad.
Has any expert checked them for any inconsistencies?

BTW, when trying to upgrade, a window proposes to remove libnet1. I clicked ok
and upgrade continued, until a window says, it cannot be continued.

Cleaning up. Is this still an issue in the current stable release?

Finally I did a fresh re-install of 10.04 on a new partition, linking the home directory with a symbolic link.
Unfortunately part of the the 8.04 have been put to bin, so I can not do any further testing.
I suggest to close this issue, as nobody else confirmed it.
