Recently upgraded my computer to 9.10 alpha 4, accessing the machine over FreeNX thru another computer which also runs 9.10 alpha

Please try to obtain a backtrace following the instructions at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash and upload the backtrace (as an attachment) to the bug report. You will need to run gnome-settings-daemon with "--no-daemon --sync" in GDB. Please also attach your ~/.xsession-errors after the issue. This will greatly help us in tracking down your problem.

Thanks but you're missing some debug symbols there. Could you please try again, but making sure you have the following additional packages installed:

libc6-dbg libgnome-desktop-2-11-dbgsym libxrandr2-dbg libx11-6-dbg gnome-settings-daemon-dbgsym

Thanks for the report cipher27 , It has been a long time without any comment or a duplicate in this bug report and It is possible that the bug has been fixed. May you please try to reproduce it with the latest Stable Release of Ubuntu the Natty Narwhal and add the respective comments to the report?
