[Karmic] Ubiquity crashes with a UnboundLocalError on 20090822 image

Bug Description

I'm running ubiquity on a preseeded installation of Kubuntu 9.10 "Karmic Koala" - Alpha amd64 (20090822) and I get the attached crash report with an UnboundLocalError exception.

I have attached the above preseed because I suspect the problem might be related. Dave Morley repoted that the same image installs fine when following the steps manually.

The problem seems to have been introduced in ubiquity revno 3313:

  merge from lp:~mterry/ubiquity/oem-config-merge : oem-config and ubiquity now share the same code base\!
