When adding task to calendar, event is scheduled on the wrong day.

Bug Description

This issue arises when I enter a new task in Astrid and check the "add task
to calendar" option. I fill out all the fields and hit save. The add to
calendar screen then pops up, verifying the info. I click add (or save or
whatever it says) and the event saves to my calendar.

The problem is this: about 50% of the time, the event adds to my calendar
on the wrong day. When this happens, it almost always adds the event at
about 24 hours after the current time, instead of whatever date and time I
input originally.

To fix the problem, I go back into Astrid and "edit" the event. I change
nothing other than reopening the calendar event (through Astrid) and
re-saving. I don't have to change the date or any other info, because
within Astrid the date is correct, as I originally set it. This usually
works after 1 try, but occasionally I have to do it more than once, because
the same problem recurs.

The other 50% of the time, the event saves on the correct date and the
correct time without issue. I can't find anything relating to why it
happens one way or the other.

All my events that I save in this manner are reminders to pay bills, so
they are all tagged the same way and have the same settings each time
within Astrid.

One other note I thought of: I am using the "Absolute deadline" within
Astrid and not the "Goal deadline".

I have the updated version of Astrid (last done on 8-20-09), but this
problem has occurred since I've been using the program. At first, I
thought I was forgetting to correctly enter the date, but I've noticed the
problem repeat itself regardless.

One possibility would be that the user has some custom timezone setting, or a mismatch of timezone between phone and Google calendar?

Possibly related to this issue is that when I create a task and add it to the calendar, the calendar time is one hour earlier than the time set in the task. I must go back in to the task, open the calendar event, change the time and save for it to be corrected. I thought it might be a timezone issue but the online google calendar is the same TZ as my current location, phone configured to use network provided values (automatic). Android 2.0.1 on Droid.

I think this is by design. If the task will take one hour and the
deadline is at 3pm, for example, then the start time should be at 2pm.

Overall this is related to tasks having end times (deadlines) but not
start times.

but why does Astrid assume a one hour completion time? we have the option of setting how long the task will take, and it seems to me that if I don't do that, I don't want astrid to assume any particular length of time; I just want a reminder at the deadline I set...
