Bug Description

Binary package hint: hal

I've verified this now on two different Dell laptops (supported by dell-laptop kernel module) that were upgraded from jaunty->karmic.

You start out with the hardware killswitch enabled (eg BT and WLAN are both ON). You boot into an install that was dist-upgraded to karmic. The BT and WLAN device both remains on for part of the boot and suddenly turn off.

I added debugging output to the dell-laptop kernel module's set and query functions including a WARN_ON(1). Looking at this it appears that that hald-addon-rfkill-killswitch is changing the rfkill status after the system starts to boot.

This *only* happens on upgraded installs. Booting off a USB key with a fresh karmic daily it doesn't occur.
