Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdemultimedia

Dragon player (or any other KDE video player) should disable screensaver etc. when playing videos. Bug #321165 says that this kind of feature should be there, but it doesn't work for me (using KDE 4.3 - karmic packages). Dragon player doesn't switch PowerDevil to an other profile, so it is still locking the screen during playing videos/DVDs.

This comment is for a bug i was reporting about Dragonplayer. i typed a detailed report of the problems I was having, then read an instruction to follow a link to make sure I was reporting the information accurately and completely. i read the instruction and felt that I followed the format pretty well and tried to return to submit my report. When I tried going back, my report never appeared in the order of return pages. I do not know if the report was entered. I do not want to duplicate my comments. I did, as a last entry, include my email address to simplify any response anyone might want to make. <email address hidden>
I am very thorough and believe my explanation will be very helpful, so if you have it, fine, however, if it was deleted due to the procedure I followed, please let me know: I will resubmit. Thanks! Steven

Hi there!

Thanks for reporting this bug! Your bug seems to be a problem with the KDE program itself, and not with our KDE packages. While we appreciate your issue, it would be better if it was tracked at https://bugs.kde.org, so that the KDE developers can deal with this speedily and have direct communication with you as the reporter for more effective debugging.

Thanks!

The problem still exists with dragonplayer in maverick. According to bug #365770, libxtst-dev could be needed as a build-depend.

That package is completely and entirely unrelated in this case. Dragon player is a KDE4 application, and KDE4's screensaver inhibition stack is completely different than KDE4's. As noted in comment #4, this is a KDE issue, not a packaging issue, and a bug report should be filed upstream.

I have find source of problem: Dragon player disables screen saver, but
NOT disables power management. In some cases power management switch off
display power. It is seems like screen saver occurred.
