I really like the idea of adding tagging, comments, and other metadata
to files. As I've been working on applications that use desktopcouch
to integrate with UbuntuOne, I've felt the need to have links between
data in desktopcouch and files stored in UbuntuOne. We should create a
standard way for people to store references to files in desktopcouch,
and make sure that things like comments and tags on files are not just
stored on the web UI, but also synced to the desktop and available
smoothly and naturally there as well. I'm not sure whether this
involves integrating with zeitgeist, or just some simple nautilus
extensions, but it's something I'd really like to brainstorm on and
have a session at the next UDS about. There is a lot of potential here.

Sounds like a desktopcouch integration could also enable capturing conversations between people about a shared file or possibly a folder.
