Kubuntu 6.06 beta installer fails to detect a lot of hardware

Bug Description

I've been using Kubuntu Dapper Flight for the last 3-4 pre-releases and they've been installing and working like a charm.

Yesterday I installed 6.06 beta and I was shocked that the installation had gotten much worse:
- Network wasn't configured (apparently it didn't even detect the network card)
- USB intellimouse (connected to the computer's USB ports, not a hub) wasn't detected so I had no mouse support at all.

There probably are more problems, but between not having network and a mouse, I decided to call it quits and wait for the next release.

This was a totally clean install.

Noel: did the final dapper release (or later) work for you?
