Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdebase

The folder-view widget on the desktop crashes when the mouse is hovered over a subfolder (in that widget) without permissions. It displays an alert window saying it could not view it and the whole desktop restarts. If the mouse is hovered over that folder again the second time, the desktop crashes, and does not restart, requiring a manual closure of the xsession using ctrl+alt+backspace

Could you install kdebase-workspace-dbg and run plasma-desktop through gdb as described at https://wiki.kubuntu.org/Backtrace please? Thanks in advance.

Hope this helps. gdb stops responding after plasma-desktop freezes if I press ctrl + C
so I had to just run the backtrace command and detach the process after the error
