Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

When i wanna watch a video on youtube (In full screen mode) i can but its really choppy and throughout the video it pauses for like one or 2 seconds and it keeps doing that. Its very annoying, please help me solve this problem. I'm using ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope and i currently have no package selected. Im an ubuntu noob so plz help. Thanks in advance!

Thank you for responding Micah. As of right now I have Firefox version 3.0.13 Mozilla Firefox for Ubuntu canonical-1.0. I think thats the most recent one. If not please let me know. Ya playing the videos in fullscreen are still bad. Can it be fixed? Thanks alot in advance and thanks again for responding.

This is more of a flash / youtube problem than a firefox problem.
Can confirm the bug with firefox 3 or 3.5.3 and adobe labs flash native 64 bit plugin.

Thank you for the update. There's no reason to downgrade to Ubuntu 8.10. Also, we do not support the 64 bit flash plugin at present. My guess would be your video drivers. Could you please post the output of:
lshw -C video

That will allow us to see what video card you have so that we can further diagnose the problem.

Unfortunately, it seems like your hardware is ahead of the Ubuntu repos. Fear not, for there are packages available. I actually had the same problem with my laptop. This will all be fixed in Karmic, but if you cannot wait:
Install xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.7.1-0ubuntu1~xup~1 from:
https://edge.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat/+archive/x-updates
Install libdrm2 2.4.14-0ubuntu0tormod~jaunty and linux 2.6.30-10.12 from:
https://edge.launchpad.net/~xorg-edgers/+archive/ppa/

That should fix it for you.
