Bug Description
Binary package hint: ubiquity
On a slow machine, clicking "Forward" or "Back" does nothing for several seconds, which is disconcerting.
One way of fixing this would be to visibly hide the old pane instantly, even if the contents of the new pane are not available yet. If the new pane still has not displayed after one second, a small spinner could appear in the middle of the pane until the contents is available.
This intersects with bug 336751, progress feedback for the partitioning step in particular. The partitioning step is unusual in that there is determinate feedback, so in that case a determinate progress bar would be suitable underneath the usual spinner.

Ubuntu Software Center demonstrates the solution I suggested here: hiding the old pane instantly, then showing a spinner if the new pane doesn't arrive quickly.
