Bug Description

I have a ssh-tunnel to my remote database host. localhost:9999 ist forwarded. When I configure mysql-admin to connect to localhost:9999 it uses the socket connection to my locally running mysql server. This is very confusing. Only using 127.0.0.1:9999 uses the tcp connection.

I can confirm this is the case.
The command line mysql client also displays this behavior, but in that case it is possible to add --protocol=TCP. However that should not be necessary, specifying a port number makes it clear that we are not talking about a socket.
