printing 2 pages in 1 doesn't work

Bug Description
I just found out that the Gnome printing dialog allows the user to print 2 pages, or even 4, per sheet. As seen on the image:

However, it doesn't work - I still get one page for each sheet of paper.
To my eyes, this behavior is VERY defficient and should receive special care before Dapper gets stable.
