x fails after dapper install

Bug Description
I am unable to install Dapper on my laptop, a Pentium M from LinuxCertified (Breezy runs fine). I have tried both update-manager as well as a clean install.
The initial install pass goes ok, but after reboot I get a black screen at the point at which gdm should be launched. Here is :0.log:
