Bug Description

Ive seen this on two laptops, one with intel video card, and other with an nvidia one. The bug appears pretty much in every application, and though it does not make the system unusable, its pretty annoying...

What happens, is that several gtk elements fail to display correctly. I attached a screenshot of a print window, where the printers cant be seen, unless one hovers over each of them.

This can also be seen in gedit, where when having multiple tabs opened, switching from one to the other causes the whole text are not to be displayed, and it appears only by scrolling or selecting parts of the text. Just equally, this is seen in empathy, where both the conversation box, and the place where you enter new messages fail to display sometimes. I could mention many more examples, but I dont precisely see a point in that.

I was just trying to get a screenshot of this behaviour on gedit, but the default gnome take screenshot action makes the text be rendered correctly. Also, losing focus seems to fix the rendering with gedit, but this does not work with the printers list problem.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. I have classified this bug as a bug in gnome-desktop.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please execute the following command, as it will automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:

apport-collect BUGNUMBER

This will help us to find and resolve the problem. Bear in mind that you may need to install the python-launchpadlib package from the universe repository. Additionally, when prompted to give apport-collect permissions for Launchpad you will need to give it at least the ability to "Change Non-Private" data as it will be adding information to your bug report. Thanks in advance!

I hadn't been able to check up on this bug report for some days, but now checked it again, and it seems this issue was already fixed. Print dialogs work fine, gedit doesnt display this odd behavior, and I have't seen it anywhere else.
